About the Author

“About the Author” blurbs are harder to write than you’d expect!

Let’s see… I’ve been writing and posting pictures to View from the Prairie Box since I was a senior in college. My husband convinced me that posting a family letter to a blog was the way to go, and since then I’ve experienced the hey day of blogging and now the very quiet world of writing for yourself with no aim to overly influence others or make money or get free stuff. The title of my site comes from our first home which was a “prairie box” style built in 1916. We’ve now moved to another house but the title stuck.

I write what I know and what I see and definitely what I feel. By reading this site you’ll come across family pictures, tales of a little life, reflections on everything from the state of my soul to the God who created it. I tend to write when strongly convicted or suffering, and I write with great intent and passion. I’m now a middle aged mom of one, wife of one, and jack of many trades.
