The Loveliest Thing in the World

...is a sleeping baby on your shoulder, breathing evenly on your neck, soft cheek against yours. It's a feeling that just can't be beat.

I highly recommend having children.

Rebecca! You put a link to my blog on your blog! I have been endorsed by the Prarie Box! I am so cool now. :) Thanks for that, friend, sorry to comment on something totally unrelated to your post. Love to Livia, and I invite all the Prarier Boxers to stop by and see me.

The Prairie Box is quite the esteemed web presence. Actually, the stock market rises and falls based on what goes on here, so your linkage is a bigger deal than you know! ; )

Livia just grunted something that sounded like, "I love you, too, Aunt Haley!" An amazing grunter this child is...

Rebecca, I'm a friend of Doug Serven's. Just had to post a comment here as our youngest of four daughters (Emilia Jane - we call her Millie - 11 months) has gotten particularly cuddly in the past several weeks, and I have been the beneficiary. Couldn't agree with you more, and just wanted to say so.

Hey, Craig -- glad to see you here. I've been enjoying your blog (it's even on my blog links, see?) and it's high time I buy and read your book. Four daughters? Sounds absolutely wonderful to me. I'm already thinking about the next little one, should the Lord bless us that way. : )

Boo-hoo...those days of a cuddly baby happily sleeping on my shoulder are quickly drawing to an end!! I was watching you and Livia last night, Rebecca, during dinner and noticed how she has now entered the stage of being distracted while she eats! How quickly she is changing! Enjoy every one of those cuddle-bug moments with "Shoog." (I'm not sure how to spell that, but I'm referring to your sweet nickname for Livia, the shortened version of "Sugar.")

Those moments of cuddling far outweigh the difficult times and make parenting all worth it!

I think my son is possibly the cuddliest three year old boy that one could find. And if I want even MORE cuddles, I can visit my one-year-old super-snuggly sister! Sleeping babies are THE best. :)
