December 23

Jeremy brought home two fabulous-looking gifts yesterday. Clearly, this one is mine... and I'm dying to open it up. I teasingly told Jeremy I was going to use a flashlight to peek through the basket weave. He didn't look too thrilled about that idea.

Is the DPP challenging anyone else this year? For the last week I've moaned and groaned about forgetting my camera all day long--and then needing to find a decent shot by late evening. One cool thing is that the DPP is definitely pushing me to be creative. Creative Butt-Kicking Photo Project. Yup, I'm sure the CBKPP will be back next year.

I have to be honest, since we are traveling, I seem to be taking a lot more pictures (as I do). I just have a hard time narrowing down to just one picture.

I am also having a hard time remembering to take photos. Although these last few days have been slightly better since I haven't just been spending every moment during daylight hours at the hospital.

Yeah, I totally agree--my butt has been thoroughly kicked, creatively speaking, that is!! Some days, I've planned ahead and know I'll have lots of great photo opps, like when I'm baking or going somewhere out of the ordinary. But other days, i'm like, "What the heck am I going to take a picture of?? My dirty dishes?!" (I haven't stooped that low yet.)

Forgot to mention...Rebecca, even though you might feel like you're stretching yourself to take a picture at the end of the day, one would hardly ever know it by looking at them! You take such great pictures.

Yep, some days are great photo fodder, others not so much. But it gives me an excuse to tote my camera around and take pictures a lot more, as I tend to feel weird about taking pictures at, say, a restaurant. But now I have an excuse! A reason!

Ah . . . yeah . . . as someone who has taken pictures of his dirty pile of shoes, my butt definitely has been kicked. I think it's hard to see beauty in things that you look at every day. A change of scenery definitely would help the eye. Also, compared to last year working in an office and commuting definitely puts a crimp in the number of creative picture taking moments.

So what was the special gift that ended up being in those baskets, Rebecca?

Liv had a huge stuffed dog in hers and I had a hodge-podge of wonderful Jeremy-given items (including fleece jackets and chocolates).
