Grrr...

Me: [Trying to get the attention of the Blockbuster Dude who always ignores me] I'm looking for a movie called Bella.

Blockbuster Dude: Huh?

Me: Bel-la. The director has a Latin-sounding name. I couldn't locate the film on Blockbuster Online.

Blockbuster Dude: [Using computer] We don't have it.

Me: O-kay.

Blockbuster Dude: I've never even heard of it.

And then I sang my own little ditty about the lame ass guy at Blockbuster on the way home. Seriously, between not having Bella or Helvetica, and this unhelpful clerk, Blockbuster is making me crazy.

As always, when I complain about something, later I find I'm in the wrong. Bella hasn't been released to DVD yet (says Amazon.com).

Well Bella has been "released" to DVD in Russia! :) Then again, so has Atonement, which is still in the theatres. I was happy to come away with several pirated DVDs while I was there. We can talk about my low morals later.

Regardless, I can relate to your Blockbuster frustration. I maintain that they have more incompetent employees than most any place, and I often have that exact same exchange at the store. And then find the DVD at another location and whatnot.

We switched back to Netflix awhile ago because of similar frustrations and that Netflix prices are better. Did you know that with certain Netflix plans you get unlimited time to watch their movies online?? It's awesome!

Yeah, I think I heard Bella comes out on DVD in May. We're really wanting to see it, too! The dudes at Blockbuster stores here are lame asses, too...check out the recent experience our friends had with them:

we're definitely all about netflix. unfortunately, they have yet to figure out how to stream their videos via a mac, which leaves us with the normal mail in route.

As I said on "We Got Us A Family":

Don't worry about Blockbuster. Their business model is dated. Current forecasts for the company include a sell-off in the next four years. It's just a matter of time. Trouble is... who really wants to buy them? Netflix and On-Demand video have demolished their customer base.
