[Gasp] Haircut!

I am not one of those moms who cry over haircuts. Or at least, I didn’t think I was until I took Livia into a local hairstyling school last Thursday. Looking for a cheap haircut and an immediate appointment, we waltzed in the college and sat in between a few empty chairs and two chatty elderly women receiving conversation and haircuts.

I told our stylist-in-training to cut Liv’s hair “just above the shoulders” and let’s just say the first slice of her scissors made me recoil in horror. After realizing that Livia was now getting more than our money’s worth, I did the only thing a people-pleaser like me could do in this modern age: I grabbed my phone and furiously texted my shock to my little brother.

And no, I did not tell the newbie stylist that I was not pleased. I kept that part to myself (and now everyone else I come in contact with, ha) because you know what? Liv looks really cute.

I think she looks just beautiful… and I like the hair cut too. Kinda looks like her mom’s.

That is most certainly not “right above the shoulders” but durn cute!!! And you know what? You’ll be surprised how FAST it does get to “right above the shoulders”… I cannot keep Adelaide’s cut fast enough.

I think kids have super growing powers. I’m amazed how fast Liv’s cuts heal, too. : )

CP, Liv and her friend Elsie did experiment with scissors a few months back. Elsie, age 3, cut a few layers around the Liv’s face which looked great! It was hard to keep a straight face while scolding them for cutting hair.

I can totally picture you guys at the hair college in this situation, Bec!! My first (and last) experience at the hair college was not great. Internally I was sweating bullets the whole time the gal was cutting.

    Love that little girl bob!

This is totally going to happen to me one day. I persist in walking in to the nearest available place whenever Kate’s hair needs a trim, and last time, she ended up with a bangs cut I could have given her with my eyes closed … which is to say, a really crooked one. Liv’s looks adorable, even if it is a shock to see her look like such a big girl.

The real question is, did you tip the overzealous snipper?

Yes. [hanging head in shame] I lied, said I liked it, tipped her and left. It wasn’t my proudest moment.
