Apple’s Music Store is the greatest idea. LOVE it. You can download a song for a mere $.99, and oftentimes an album for $9.99. This morning I’m enjoying my small but growing download list… A few Britney Spears’ songs, U2’s Mysterious Ways, Where It’s At by Beck, and Can’t Help Falling in Love by the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley.

i’m a closet spears afficianado! i don’t have much admiration for the way she performs, or for the lyrics for that matter, but the songs are definitely catchy. : )

so bethany, i was going to borrow your dvd this week, however r. lawton tredway convinced me not to. she apparently didn’t like it or something. i’d like to hear your feelings on her tastes in this matter.

uh, no — i did no convincing of mr lawton lawton (where did that come from?). i just told andrew that i did not really enjoy ‘far from heaven.’

how was the flight back to the mountain?

well of course if anyone is not in agreeance with my tastes i am forced to the conclusion that it is their taste in error, and not mine. i for one like ‘far from heaven’ quite a lot though i can understand how someone might not. it is afterall a melodrama in a 50’s moviemaking style. but it was no. 1 on a lot of critics top 10 movies of 2002 list (not on lloyd’s though. it was not quite artsy/obscure enough for him – he chose “talk to her,” as he is fond of pointing out. he is also fond of pointing out that alexander payne (director of ‘about schmidt’ and fellow nebraskan) picked “talk to her” also).
