I love birthdays. If you look up ESFJ’s (my Meyers-Briggs personality type) you’ll find that we value traditions greatly. This explains my penchant for birthdays. All my life I’ve decorated with streamers, balloons and homemade banners, made certain gifts were purchased and wrapped, and celebrated friends and family member’s birthdays to the hilt.

Today a new tradition begins. On my 27th birthday, I’ve decided it’s ridiculous that adults don’t celebrate as children do, and I vow to (gasp!) TELL people when my birthday is!

“Hey, Rebecca! How are you today?”
“Good. IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!”

[answering machine picks up]”Rebecca, just wanted to leave you a message about that order…”
[snatching up the phone] “Hey! IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!”

“Rebecca, can you make it to the Building Committee Meeting tonight?”
“Probably not ‘cuz IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!”

So… Happy Birthday to Me. Thanks, Mom & Dad for doing all the work of birthing and raising your second-born. Thanks, Jeremy for loving me so darn much. Thanks, friends, for all the sweet birthday thoughts.

i preemptively wished you a happy birthday yesterday, but i guess i could continue today. happy birthday. also, since it was raining today, with about 2 inches of visibility, i bought a covenant college umbrella. don’t be surprised if this valuable umbrella ends up in your 27 year-old hands soon.

I will be eagerly looking forward to the umbrella and baby bib for Miss Liv. Thanks, Noon!

It’s pretty dreary here, too. Lots of fog overnight. Bleh.

Beck–You SHOULD be proud that it’s your birthday!! happy birthday! You’re right, why is that children can proudly announce that it’s their birthday, but we adults sheepishly admit it if the topic comes up, when in reality, deep down inside we’re dying to tell people?? I look forward to your birthday party tonite. I’ll be baking some delightful morsels later today for someone special *hint, hint*.

for the record, i saw sarah koenig twice today. once while studying and the second time in passing. i gave a “koe-ahhhnig” but she was going into english comp where her friends are so i think she may have been too cool for school. literally.

happy birthday to a great friend and a fellow ESFJ-er!

oh man, you’d think i would’ve caught that “koe-ahhhnig” call (and i can guarantee that there’s just about nothing cool about my english comp class…it is a curse upon me, i tell you).
yes, i saw andrew lawton twice as well today, for the record. both times while in the great hall: this morning while reading, but he looked deep in study, so i figured i shouldn’t disturb, and the second time over some chartwells ham. good times…

    Happy Birthday!

You’d fit in great in Ukraine. People throw huge parties for themselves when it’s their birthday, and if you don’t (like I don’t) then you’re considered strange. *grin*
