Does this qualify in the “coming in like a lion” category?

I love the way wet heavy snows drape over tree branches; God is the most amazing artist. Today I remember my grandma Iola’s birthday… She was born on March 1, 1916, and we still miss her greatly five years after her death. Grandma would’ve loved this snowfall. She, an artist at her very core, was incredibly observant of and exuberant over nature’s beauties. Though today’s snowfall is indeed lovely, I can’t help but think she’d be looking forward to seeing the “faces” of pansies just like me.

I didn’t know I shared Grandma Iola’s birthday! :) I always have had this idea that since my birthday is in March, it is a spring birthday, right?? It’s usually hit or miss on that count. Today’s snow is lovely, however, and the snow day was welcomed at our house!

I miss her too. Remember how she always received a gift certificate to Earl May’s for Mother’s Day? She and David would be there the first sunny day of Spring to look at the pansies’ faces and exclaim over anything with color…the more exotic the better. You, sweet daughter, planted bulbs around her grave to decorate the ground with blue flowers as soon as Spring comes. We remember…she now plants, laughs and worships Jesus forever and ever. Mom

Do you think she still takes her plants indoors when it gets cold? Perhaps St. Peter is telling her, “Iola, you don’t need to drag the hibiscus into your mansion at night! It’ll be fine on the patio… Remember, this is HEAVEN!” lol.

    Hap-py birth-day dear Ker-ri, hap-py birth-day to you!
