Vacation, Had to Get Away

Posted on Apr 6, 2008 at 8:32 PM in Blogging
  • The days are getting warmer, not to mention longer.
  • My speedy computer is on the fritz.
  • My three-almost-four year old requires a lot of attention.
  • I feel like I’m updating my blog to keep up with something or someone (the Joneses?).
  • I haven’t written anything of substance in quite some time–not good for a writer.
  • My blog posts are hardly representing my life right now.

Sound like time for a blogging hiatus? I think yes.

I hate it when other people take breaks from blogging. And I also feel kind of dumb announcing a break only to pick up the habit a few days later. But I’ll take that chance and trust that my online friends will patiently await my return. Just so you know, you’ll have full permission to laugh at my break if I show up with a new post tomorrow afternoon.

Hasta luego.

The next time GoogleReader brings you back I’ll smile and I won’t begrudge you a bit for your hiatus.

Several things. I also hate it when people take breaks from blogging. (That was not meant to be pressure, I’m merely agreeing with you.) I mean, don’t they know I rely on them for good (ahem) reading material?

And, defining blogging as a habit? Sad, but true.

Also, I will totally understand (and probably not laugh) if you show up tomorrow with a post. It’s a habit, remember?

Would it help if I took a blogging break, too? :-D

I need to. I need to finish Total Bedroom Makeover…painting every single piece of stinkin’ trim around the sixteen panes that comprise one window in This Old house. Grr.

some good reading while you’re on break (as if one ever needs to add more blog-reading to the list!)

i ironically found the blog whilst perusing “celebrity baby blog” (yes. yes, yes.) — its about the recent pregnancy and loss of baby of Selah singer Todd and his wife Angie. Angie writes all the blogs and is a terrific spindle-er of words — i was captivated by her story and read all the posts last night. it was uplifting for me..

I noticed a OLD Blog you wrote in 2006 on internet search of Westminster School in Augusta, Ga.

I went there too. I was there 1983-1992, k5-th grade. My high school class was 1996. So I am not sure how mamy grades I was ahead of you.

My sister Julie was 1 year behind me and she also went to Covenant college and works there now.
