Get Out a Pen

Then find a piece of stationery, lined paper, graphing paper, recycled paper, back of a receipt, whatever you can find…

And write someone a letter. A love letter. An I’m sorry letter. A letter of thanks. A note to say how missed they are. A tale of your day, the weather or what your Great Aunt Bertha or coworker or creepy dude on the playground actually said to you last week. A rhymed couplet, scripture verse or haiku would be lovely as well.

I’m not posting again until ten people have commented that they’ve written and mailed a real, honest-to-goodness letter.

God bless you. Long live snail mail.

I write a letter to my grandmother every few weeks – she writes me back. Even though she has email and is on Facebook (and she’s 83!), we still write.

I even have written letters with an old fashioned quill pen and ink.

I’ve got a letter stamped and waiting for tomorrow’s pickup. (I’d be a hypocrite if I didn’t write something as well!)

I just sent two thank-you cards. Snail mail is not dead! Still so fun. (Except receiving the kind that contain bills, that’s not so fun.)

I sent a thank you note out today. Finding “real mail” (i.e., not bills) in the mailbox makes my day! =)

For those of us too lazy to snip out our own letters, here’s a helpful link: http://www.addletters.com/ransom-note-generator.htm

Sample letter: “GiVe mE aLl oF yOUr moNEy AnD I wiLL rETurN thE kIttY”

For all those helpful… “projects” you have on the back burner. Yay letters.

This was awesome. I love writing letters and sending greeting cards for totally random reasons. Its sad that very few people take the time to do it in these days of facebook and AIM.
