Bec & the Sous Chefs

Posted on Jul 3, 2011 at 3:03 PM in In the Kitchen, Livia, Photography, Shiloh

I love having Livia next to me while we bake cookies. She helps crack eggs, samples each ingredient, and then cleans off the Kitchen Aid paddle for me. Plus, with her, baking is an Event and we don aprons. Makes it more fun that way.

Shiloh gets in on the action, too. He cleans up the floor. Today he decided the bare arches of my feet needed cleaning—way ticklish.

We like to make this chocolate chip recipe from my Aunt Ruthie because it makes enough for a crowd. What cookie recipes are your favorites?

Best photo ever of you. You can’t take a bad photo, no matter which side of the camera you are on.

    Keep shooting.

My mom’s oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are the. best. ever. I was an adult before I realized there was any other kind of chocolate chip cookie. (What is this Tollhouse of which you speak? And why doesn’t it have oatmeal?)

My mom’s chocolate chip cookies. They’re light and crispy and delicious, and always my go-to. But in the fall I like molasses cookies, in the winter I like big chewy oatmeal craisin cookies, and come springtime I like lemon crisps or simple sugar cookies. Yes I love cookies. My favorite dessert by far. :)

Marcus’ Grandma Maggie’s cookies are all we make around here. Moist on the inside, crisp on the outside.
You make me want to get some freckles.

Oh RRR, I can so prove you wrong, but I don’t want to. ;) Thanks for the encouragement. It came right when I needed it.

Kerri, I think I’ve got your recipe (Zion Cookbook, right?), but I’d love for Joc and Jen to email me their favs. Cookies rock.
