Deck the halls with boughs of holly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Tis the season to be jolly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Don we now our gay apparel,
Fa la la, la la la, la la la.
Troll the ancient Yule tide carol,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

I like the other 2 verses of that song, but no one knows them (I’ll just omit the “fa la la” business):
See the blazing yule before us
Strike the harp and join the chorus
Follow me in merry measure
While I tell of Yuletide treasure
Fast away the old year passes
Hail the new ye lads and lasses
Sing we joyous all together
Heedless of the wind and weather

downing’s christmas party??
p.s. fyi, the reason i don’t comment more often is because for some reason our firewall at work blocks the ability to do so on your blog. :-/

Anne, I like those verses, too!
CP, boo hiss on not commenting while at work… or maybe it’s actually a good thing. ; ) And yup, last night we were gettin’ down at the Downings (terrible word play, I know).
