Dubya’s Poetry

You’ve gotta love this. Okay, maybe you don’t. But I did! Here it is, in all its glory… President Bush’s Poem:

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Oh my, lump in the bed
How I’ve missed you.
Roses are redder
Bluer am I
Seeing you kissed by that charming French guy.
The dogs and the cat, they missed you too
Barney’s still mad you dropped him, he ate your shoe
The distance, my dear, has been such a barrier
Next time you want an adventure, just land on a carrier.

i think i love this poem because it’s EXACTLY like the type of poetry i come up with off the top of my head, when no one else is around. i especially enjoy the “just land on a carrier” ending.

hey — andrew, jeremy and i played the rhyme game during much of our ride home from stl last august. i do believe one particularly tough round began with andrew’s word of choice, “poop.” right, noon?
