December Photo Project: Q&A
Questions regarding DPP:
- “Does it have to be a picture you took on THAT day?”
- “Do we just post them to our own blogs?”
- “I am not really a very good photographer, and I don’t know how to use the camera very effectively. Still, I am tempted. But wary. Do I really want/need to add this to my December???!!!! :) On the other hand, one doesn’t need to blog if one doesn’t want to, since one is posting pictures every day.”
Hmmm.
Answers:
- [Big smile]
- The general idea is that you allow others to see the month of December through your eyes—and that you challenge yourself to:
- Post every day through December 25 and
- Use your camera on a regular basis
So nope, you don’t have to take a photo every day necessarily. I do (except that time I was in the hospital…) take pics every day, but that’s just the way I like to do it. And yes, you do post it to your own blog. I’ve had blog-less friends in the past who simply posted them to the Flickr group site (TBA).
- I definitely think you should join up! This is a very lightweight and fun blog project with guidelines, not rules. Most folks I know don’t end up with 25 posts by the end. No guilt though. Just fun.

Okay, I guess I’m in.
In a Charlie Brownish kind of way.

I’m in.
How do I get the cool DPP pic on my blog?

I have a question. Is there any way to have a single RSS feed that would add all the blogs participating? Or would I have to make my own RSS folder and manually add all the blogs to it as separate feeds?

Hey B, as time permits, I’ll look into the RSS feed question. I don’t believe WordPress offers blogroll feeds out-of-the-box, so I will probably have to do some customization.

Cool. I don’t know much about RSS, so I wasn’t sure if that was something that could even be done. For the time being I’ll just add blogs individually to a DPP folder in my RSS reader.

I love the idea. I’ve had trouble committing to 365 so this should be a good way to get my feet wet. : )

Hi! I just came across your blog tonight. I’m not sure how to do your DPP, but I have a picture on my blog (URL above) that I took this evening. This Santa is well over 40 years old. I remember him from my wee days when I was shorter than he was. Oh the memories of Gramma’s house that are weaved in Santa’s and my hearts!

Where did the badges go?
Jeremy Dec 2, 2008 9:21 AM
Floreska … that was my mistake. Sorry about that. I’ve fixed it so you can now find the badges on Flickr again. :-)

I remember some of my bloggy friends doing this last year, and it looked like a lot of fun. So I’ll *try* it this year. :-)
