Ing

Selling a house.
Buying another three days later.
Signing lots of paperwork and
Scheduling two home inspections.
Holding my breath ’til those are complete.
Asking for boxes and
Receiving many from kind friends.
Praying while my dad has back surgery, then
Cringing as my husband suffers from the same problem.
Hanging out in waiting rooms during doctor’s appointments and
Thinking of how to arrange furniture in our next home.
Attempting to have faith that God, the very God who has provided so much, will take care of the details, including Jeremy’s back.
Wondering how everything’s going to work out and
Reminding myself, over and over, that God will take care of us.
Drinking hot coffee and
Taking bites of cake and
Feeling glad to put a little something down on the blog this morning.

ING: Almost Autumn Edition

ARRRRRing
AHOYing and
MATEYing for Talk Like a Pirate Day and now
Pondering whether or not Jeremy the Lego Pirate is the reason our tub is clogged.
Drinking Good Earth Decaf Tea because my throat is a little sore.
Expecting a cold front next week and, for the first time in perhaps my entire life,
Looking forward to cold temperatures and not just
Mourning the end of summer.
Feeling sorry for my little girl who is not feeling so hot and went to bed early.
Rejoicing for friends who adopted a baby girl yesterday (!!!) and
Asking the Lord to bring more babies to those who want them so badly.
Getting used to my new haircut and
Trusting others that I don’t look like a soccer mom or Janine Turner (even though she’s lovely).
Loving my mom and mother-in-law more all the time and
Appreciating all they’ve given to their children over the years.
Praying I will give of myself more selflessly than I did today.
Looking forward to writing more (freelance) and
Learning more as a photographer.
Planning to continue sharing the fruits of my labors here with you all.
Saying “goodnight” and “God bless” and “Land ho!”

Random Ing-ing.

Seed Pod

I am feeling kind of random tonight. I had great intentions: January was all about stories in photos and February would be all about writing. In fact, I had toyed with the idea of not posting photos at all this month and focusing on painting pictures with words. In theory, it is a lovely, achievable goal. In reality, I haven’t posted anything this month. And tonight is nothing special, just a small post to break the malaise I’m experiencing. The picture of the seed pod, with kids playing in the Haymarket in the background, definitely represents my somewhat random state of mind this evening. Ooh. Know what’s good for random? Ing. Here goes…

Baking a 9 grain bread from Hodgson Mills. And I must say, my house is
Smelling divine. I’m
Looking forward to
Spreading some butter on a hot slice of bread in about 30 minutes.
Reading quite a bit of the Twilight series and
Trying to decide exactly what I think about Edward. Right now I’m
Thinking he’s annoying and controlling. But I still have Book 4 to go. I’m also
Trying to get back into reading scripture. I want to know the Word of God far better than I do, so
Studying John is now my goal. I’m also
Working on Tim Keller’s prayer study for my small group with Redeemer. So far, so good. Finally, I’m
Getting sleepy and
Desiring some good time with Jeremy this evening. Enough
Blogging already. ; )

Ing for a Sunday

Watching The Secret of NIMH with Livia.
Unscrewing one burned out light bulb and
Replacing it with another.
Baking pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and
Thinking they’re a bit underdone.
Pondering twice-baked pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.
Cooking meatloaf and
Deciding that uncooked meatloaf looks really disgusting.
Believing the title meatloaf is gross, but oh my goodness, all the
Smelling I’m doing right now is making me hungry.
Looking forward to
Worshipping with Redeemer tonight,
Renewing my soul with praise to the Creator.

Ing: The Daily Tredway

Ignoring dust bunnies.

Loving each other.

When All Else Fails, Ing

  • Wishing: I had more motivation to write the blog posts that continue to roll around my brain.
  • Typing: Over and over, due to my competitive nature. [HT to Lori.]
  • Munching: On the remainder of Livia’s M&Ms from V-Day. Hey, she got tons of candy and clearly someone needs to help her eat it all.
  • Reading: A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin. More on this in my end-of-the-month review.
  • Watching: No Reservations and part of Maxed Out, a documentary on Americans and debt.
  • Cooking: Finally, a decent meal for my fam tonight.
  • Thinking: Lots of children’s clothes are made for children shorter and more rotund than Livia–most of her shirts expose her round belly these days. Quick, someone give me a Sharpie!
  • Planning: To recycle more and search for products for Liv without phthalates.
  • Singing: Happy Birthday to my pop who turned, ahem, 60 yesterday! [big grin]
  • Loving: Livia’s cuddly nature and Jeremy’s willingness to relieve me of parenting for a portion of every evening.
  • Deciding: To be done inging for one night.
